Carpathian Forest is a Norwegian black metal band formed in 1990. Known for their dark, atmospheric sound and themes of death, darkness, and Satanism, the band blends traditional black metal with elements of punk and doom. Their music often features fast tremolo-picked riffs, blast beats, and eerie, haunting vocals. Carpathian Forest's live shows are notorious for their intense, provocative performances, and they are considered one of the influential bands in the Norwegian black metal scene. Their 1994 debut Black Shining Leather remains a landmark release in the genre.
